The problem

Policies are written to be hard to read

“Pre-existing illnesses aren’t covered for your first 36 months.”

That is the whole paragraph behind it. PolicyLens reads the fine print so you can read the sentence — and still shows you the clause it came from.

How it works

Three steps from
fine print to clarity.

  1. Health_Shield_Policy.pdf

Reading pages · building the index

  2. Does this policy cover pre-existing diseases?
  3. Health_Shield_Policy.pdf

    4. Coverage and Exclusions

4.1 The Company will indemnify the insured person for medically necessary in-patient treatment, subject to the sum insured and the terms below.

4.2 The Company shall not be liable for any claim arising from a pre-existing disease until thirty-six (36) months of continuous coverage have elapsed since the policy commencement date.

4.3 Treatment arising from self-inflicted injury, cosmetic procedures or experimental therapies is excluded from cover under this policy.

    5. Claim Process

Pre-existing diseases are not covered until you have held the policy continuously for 36 months from the start date. After that waiting period they are covered like any other illness.

Every sentence

Hover a line of the answer. The clause behind it lights up in the document, with its page. No answer without evidence — and when the policy doesn’t say, PolicyLens says so.
